2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference Attendance Scholarship

Now taking applications until 5 January 2026

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to access an all-inclusive, complimentary registration to the 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference being held in Perth in May 2026. Thanks to generous donations we’ve received from our community, Members and stakeholders, this new scholarship program is designed to support attendance of:

  • Undergraduate students studying a health discipline with an interest in rural and remote practice
  • New to remote clinicians (under three years in practice)
  • First Peoples’ clinicians working in rural and remote

Scholarship recipients will be contacted early February 2026. Please note that travel and accommodation costs will be at the recipient’s own expense and are not covered by this sponsorship.

Scholarship criteria

About the scholarship

CRANAplus offers successful applicants of the 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference Attendance Scholarship an all-inclusive, complimentary registration to the 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference being held in Perth in May 2026. Please note that travel and accommodation costs will be at the recipient’s own expense and are not covered by this sponsorship.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for a scholarship, the applicant must be:

  • A current CRANAplus Member
  • An Australian citizen or permanent resident

And at least one of the following:

  • Student: Enrolled as a student in a health discipline at an Australian University OR
  • New to remote: Currently working in a rural or remote setting (classified from MMM 4-7), with less than three years of experience working in rural or remote health OR
  • First Peoples clinician: Identifies as being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clinician working in a rural or remote community.

Incomplete applications, or those where eligibility criteria are not met, will not be considered by the CRANAplus Grants Committee.

Applications close on 5 January, 2026.

Scholarship recipients will be contacted early February 2026. 

Scholarship requirements

Before applying, please note

Successful applicants will be responsible for all travel, accommodation and living expenses related to attending the CRANAplus Conference.

Funding for the same purpose must not have been received from any other source.

Expectations and conditions

Summary report: If you are a successful recipient of the 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference Attendance Scholarship, you must submit a 500-word report telling the story of your experience at the CRANAplus 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference. This may be included in the CRANAplus Magazine or other publications. Your report must be submitted to professionalservices@crana.org.au by 13 June 2026.

Suitable photos may be included with the report, but if they include images of individual people, their written permission for publication must be provided to CRANAplus.

Conference registration: All successful applicants are required to register for the CRANAplus’ 2026 Remote Nursing and Midwifery Conference before 2 March 2026. If registered before being notified of a successful application outcome, CRANAplus will refund the registration.

Announcement of successful applications

CRANAplus Scholarship Committee will assess individual applications after the closing date (5 January, 2026). The committee’s decision is final. The Conference Convenor will notify the successful applicants via email.
