Professor Timothy Carey is the Director, Centre > Health Equity in Regional and Remote Communities at CQUniversity. He has a longstanding passion for and commitment to rural and remote health. Previously, he was the Chair of Country Health Research and Innovation at Curtin University, the Director of Flinders University’s Centre for Remote Health in Alice Springs, and the inaugural Director of the Institute of Global Health Equity Research at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. Tim is a researcher-clinician with over 180 publications with some being translated into other languages including Italian, Dutch, and Korean. He has a blog on Psychology Today called “In Control” which has more than 1.6 million views. All of Tim’s work is underpinned by the science of organic, autonomous control which he has used to pioneer clinical initiatives such as “Method of Levels Therapy”, “Patient-Perspective Care”, and “Patient-Led Appointment Scheduling”.
